PROJECT: Ministry of Education Relocatables - various sites
CUSTOMER: Ministry of Education
The brief for Ministry of Education (MOE) was to undertake minor works on several school sites, with a budget of $1.2 million and a three-month completion date before the start of the new school term. This project increased to $4.2 million as MOE required additional works.
The scope included:
relocation of classroom units from several donor schools throughout New Zealand
donated donor units utilised to create a Year 7 and Year 8 learning centre, as well as several other remote learning centres
alterations to a food technology room to meet the required NCEA Level 3 accreditation.
At Corbel we pride ourselves on the ability to undertake challenging projects and this one required precise coordination of the area, disconnections and building relocations to ensure we met the three-month time frame so the schools were up and running before the beginning of term one.
The Corbel Construction team is proud of the project outcome, and how we overcame the various challenges we faced. Corbel had the added pressure of completing works over the Christmas and New Year period but was still able to deliver in the required time frame.
